Image Resizer

Fit an image inside a width and height limit before publishing. Keep its proportions, preview the actual dimensions and download a PNG without uploading it.

Your selected images and pasted text stay in this browser tab. No upload, account or paid AI call.

PNG, JPG or static WebP · PNG output · up to 20 MiB and 16 megapixels

Pixel limits, not an exact crop. Proportions stay the same; small images are not enlarged by default.

A bounding box, with no stretching or cropping

Enter the maximum width and height in pixels. The image is scaled to fit inside both limits, keeping its proportions apart from whole-pixel rounding. For example, a 4000 × 2000 image in a 1200 × 1200 box becomes 1200 × 600. The box is not a promise of an exact canvas size.

Small images keep their original size by default. Select Allow enlargement to scale them up, knowing that enlargement does not create detail. The result is always PNG and preserves decoded transparency. Use a separate cropper if you need a full-bleed social cover with a different aspect ratio.

Prepare pixels locally, then save the result

PNG, JPG and static WebP are processed in your browser. The selected file is not uploaded, stored in a report database or sent to AI. The output panel shows source and result dimensions so you can check what changed before downloading.

Inputs are limited to 20 MiB, 16 megapixels and 8192 pixels per side. Each requested bound must be a whole number from 1 to 8192; the actual output must also stay within 16 megapixels. Animated images are rejected. PNG exports discard source metadata and may be larger in bytes than the original; resizing is not a target-size compressor.

How to use it

  1. Select your image — Choose PNG, JPG or static WebP from your device.
  2. Enter the maximum dimensions — Set the width and height limits. Leave enlargement off unless you want a small image scaled up.
  3. Check and download the PNG — Resize, compare the source and output dimensions, inspect the preview and save the PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Why is one dimension smaller than the number I entered?

Both numbers are maximum limits. Keeping the original proportions usually makes only one dimension reach its limit. The tool does not stretch or crop to fill the box.

Can I make a small image larger?

Yes, by selecting Allow enlargement. It is off by default. Upscaling interpolates existing pixels and cannot recover detail that is not present.

Can I keep a transparent background?

Yes. The PNG output keeps the transparency produced by the browser decoder. A JPG source remains opaque, and the preview checkerboard is not added to the file.

Can it resize to exactly 100 KB?

No. This tool controls pixel dimensions and exports PNG. The output file size depends on the pixels; it does not promise a specific byte size.
