Favicon Generator
Give your website a recognizable tab icon. Create a downloadable favicon package from a PNG, JPG or static WebP image in your browser.
Your selected images and pasted text stay in this browser tab. No upload, account or paid AI call.
One logo, the common icon sizes
The ZIP contains favicon.ico with 16×16, 32×32 and 48×48 PNG-based entries, separate PNGs at those sizes, a 180×180 Apple touch icon, 192×192 and 512×512 icons, site.webmanifest and install.html. The ICO uses PNG payloads for modern icon readers.
Fit keeps the whole image centered on a transparent square. Crop fills the square and may remove parts of a rectangular logo. Choose a simple, high-contrast source and inspect the small preview: shrinking a detailed logo cannot make its tiny lettering readable. Images smaller than an output size are enlarged and can look soft.
Install the files on your own site
Extract the ZIP and place the files at your website root, then add the link tags from install.html to your document head. These paths start with a slash; adjust them if your site lives under a subdirectory. Edit the generic Website name and colours in the manifest before using it.
If you already have a manifest or framework-managed icons, merge the needed icon entries instead of replacing your configuration blindly. The package does not install itself or make your site a complete PWA. Processing stays in this tab, accepts images up to 20 MiB and 16 megapixels with at most 8192 pixels per side, and does not retain source metadata.
How to use it
- Choose your logo — Select a PNG, JPG or static WebP. Transparent, square artwork usually needs less adjustment.
- Fit or crop — Choose the layout, generate the icons and inspect the preview.
- Download and install — Extract the ZIP, upload the files and adapt the included head tags and manifest to your site.
Frequently asked questions
What is inside the ZIP?
It includes a multi-size ICO, six PNG images, a web manifest and an HTML snippet. The small icons cover 16, 32 and 48 pixels; the larger PNGs are 180, 192 and 512 pixels.
Will the generator upload my logo?
No. The image resizing and ZIP creation run in your browser. The source image and generated files are not sent to our server.
Does this install the favicon automatically?
No. You download and install the files yourself. Use the included root-relative paths or adapt them for your hosting and framework, and merge any existing manifest configuration.
Can I use an SVG or animated image?
This version supports PNG, JPG and static WebP images. Export your SVG as a suitable PNG first. Animated WebP is rejected rather than silently using one frame.
