Remove Line Breaks
Fix hard-wrapped text copied from a PDF, email or document. Keep paragraph breaks when you want them, then copy or download plain text.
Your selected images and pasted text stay in this browser tab. No upload, account or paid AI call.
Choose how lines should join
Keep paragraphs joins single line breaks while keeping a blank line between paragraphs. Join all lines uses a space between lines, including former paragraph breaks. Remove every break deletes line-break characters without adding spaces. The original words and punctuation are not rewritten.
Use Join without spaces for text where the line endings should not introduce a word separator, such as some Chinese or Japanese passages. Review the result before publishing: a tool cannot reliably infer whether a line was a list item, verse, heading or an intentional paragraph. This does not repair PDF reading order or missing spaces between words.
Plain text stays in this tab
The cleanup runs locally. Pasted text is not sent to our server or an AI model, is not saved in local storage, and is never interpreted as HTML. The output is plain text even when it contains tags, code or other markup. Copy or download it before closing the tab.
This version handles up to 500,000 characters at a time. It recognizes Windows, Unix and classic Mac line endings, plus Unicode line and paragraph separators. Clearing the tool removes its current input and output from the interface; it does not alter text already copied or downloaded.
How to use it
- Paste your text — Paste plain text in the input field. Use the example to try the options without pasting your own content.
- Pick a cleanup mode — Keep paragraphs, join all lines, or delete breaks. Choose whether joined lines need spaces.
- Review and save — Press Clean text, compare the result and copy it or download a TXT file.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep paragraph breaks?
Yes. The default mode preserves blank-line paragraph boundaries while joining single line breaks. It does not infer paragraphs from font, layout or sentence meaning.
Is the pasted text uploaded or stored?
No. Cleanup happens in the browser, and the tool does not save your text in local storage. Your original document remains unchanged.
Will it rewrite my words or run pasted HTML?
No. The tool changes only line breaks and the spacing at joined boundaries. Pasted markup is treated as text, and the output is not rendered as HTML.
Can I join Chinese or Japanese lines?
Use Join without spaces if that suits your text. Check punctuation and paragraph boundaries afterward; the tool does not identify language or infer document structure.
