What you are looking at

The preview renders your title, description and URL the way Google lays them out, truncated at the same points. It reads the live page, so it reflects what is deployed rather than what you meant to deploy.

Google displays the URL as a breadcrumb trail now — domain, then path segments with hyphens turned into spaces. Ugly slugs and query strings show up here in a way they never did when the raw URL was displayed.

What makes a result taller

Vertical space is the real competition on a search page. A result with breadcrumbs, an expandable FAQ block and a rating occupies several times the height of a plain one, and height is attention.

BreadcrumbList and FAQPage schema are the two cheapest ways to earn extra lines. Neither affects ranking; both affect how much of the page you occupy at the position you already hold.

How to use it

  1. Enter the page URL — The tool reads the live page.
  2. Check both previews — Mobile truncates the description sooner than desktop.
  3. Fix what gets cut — Rewrite so the important half survives the mobile cut-off.

Frequently asked questions

Is this preview exactly what Google shows?

It is an accurate approximation of the layout and truncation points. Google may substitute its own title or generate a different description per query, and it renders with its own font, so widths vary slightly.

Why is my URL shown as a breadcrumb?

Google replaced full URLs with a breadcrumb trail in search results. It derives the trail from your path segments, or from BreadcrumbList schema when you provide it.

Can I control what Google shows?

Partly. A clear title and description are used most of the time. Structured data adds elements you cannot otherwise get. But Google reserves the right to rewrite both per query.
